International call for projects: Solidarity FabLabs

In 2014, the Orange Foundation launched a major digital education project to provide new opportunities to young people in difficulty and women in unstable situations, based mainly on digital technology.

Orange FabLabs are a place of innovation, where individuals are able to learn and understand digital technology in an original and collaborative way

FabLabs Solidaires Appel à projets international

As soon as the movement emerged in France, we used the enthusiasm behind the approach to help bring digital technology to young unqualified individuals.
It is a wonderful opportunity for them to develop digital skills and prepare themselves for the professions of the future. We know that the way people learn in FabLabs, which is based on doing and sharing, is a powerful driver to increase young people’s confidence and self-esteem.

Building on these aspects, we want to draw in young people and raise their awareness - and for the highly motivated among them, offer digital fabrication training that capitalises on their skills, totally free of charge for them.

So far, the Foundation has supported 51 Solidarity FabLabs in France and worldwide in 8 countries: France, Spain, Poland, Tunisia, Madagascar, Senegal, Egypt and Slovakia.

Our ambition is to train 4,000 young people in difficulty.

Orange Foundation is launching a call for projects for the program "Solidarity FabLabs" 2016, exclusively for Orange foundations and affiliates in the Orange Group countries outside France.
